L'hôtel de Caumont
The Hotel de Caumont, the cultural destination of Aix en Provence...
The Caumont art centreis a truly Aixoise destination.
Founded between 1715 and 1742, it is an old 'Hotel Particulier' or Penthouse located in the oldest Quarter of Aix called Le Quartier Mazarin.
Every year, it hosts two temporary exhibitions devoted to the great names in art. A film on painter Cezanne and his connection to the region, Cezanne au pays d’Aix, is shown every day. A wide variety of concerts, musical performances and lectures complete the programme.
From May 19th to October 10th 2021, The Hôtel de Caumont Art Centre is presenting an exhibition of artworks by the French-Chinese artist Zao Wou-Ki (1920- 2013), organised in collaboration with the Zao Wou-Ki Foundation. The exhibition regroups 76 works dating from 1935 to 2009 (oils on canvas, watercolours, and works in China ink on paper) held in public and private collections.
